The fire pit crackles. Your dog is already asleep at your feet. This is Cliffside Cottage — a genuine, secluded Poconos riverfront retreat perched on a forested cliffside, where nature does all the talking and you just need to show up
Hosted by Wander Home - see "Other Things To Note" in the description below.
Cliffside Cottage is a 4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home sleeping up to 8 guests across three floors. Each level opens onto a different relationship with the forest and the Bushkill River valley below.
The main floor is where everyone gathers. Open-concept living and dining with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors onto the wraparound deck. The living room anchors the space with a gray sectional large enough for the whole group and a wood-burning fireplace stocked with included firewood. On cool evenings, this is where the night
lands. The dining area seats everyone near panoramic forest windows — made for long dinners that drift into conversation.
The kitchen is bright and genuinely stocked: electric range, dishwasher, drip coffee maker, wine glasses, complimentary wine, cast iron skillet, baking sheet, and barbecue utensils. This is not a token kitchen; you can cook a real meal here and will want to.
The sunroom is one of the defining rooms of the property. Three walls of glass look into the tree canopy; on clear days, you can spot the river through the tree line. Morning coffee room, afternoon reading nook, and the spot guests always drift back to.
Upstairs, the primary suite has a king bed with vaulted wood-beam ceiling and panoramic treetop views. The en-suite bathroom includes a soaking tub positioned to look out into the forest — one of the better unexpected details in the house. Two additional queen bedrooms, one with a small sofa and private half bath. A fourth sleeping area in the basement adds a sectional sofa and Roku TV. Total: 8 guests across four sleeping spaces, plus up to three dogs.
The wraparound deck connects the house to its surroundings — gas grill, deck dining table, and Adirondack seating from spring through fall. The fire pit below the deck is the evening destination — ringed by Adirondack chairs, firewood provided, and positioned to catch the last light off the hillside.
